The Yale Climate & Energy Institute (YCEI) announces its annual competition for Climate and Energy Postdoctoral Fellowship nominations for 2011. Applicants are sought with interdisciplinary research interests in climate change and energy, ranging from natural sciences and engineering, to social sciences and humanities. Individuals who have been awarded the PhD degree within the past three years, or expected by July 2011, are eligible for nomination. Each of the YCEI postdoctoral fellow positions is awarded for one year with an option to renew for a second year, subject to adequate progress and availability of funding. The position provides a stipend ($50,000/yr), base research funds, plus health care benefits and nominal expenses for relocation.

All applicants should apply online at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/Yale/YCEI. Applicants should contact a sponsor at Yale to identify potential research projects, and then submit a short (2-3 page) research proposal of interdisciplinary nature with research budgets, a curriculum vita, a list of publications, and a manuscript or reprint of a published work. Applicants should also arrange for four reference letters, one of which should be a letter of nomination sent directly from their Yale faculty sponsor. The deadline for receipt of all application materials is January 31, 2011, and decisions will be announced by or shortly after April 5, 2011. Successful candidates are expected to begin their program at Yale on or after July 1, 2011.

Yale University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer; applications from women, minority and international scientists are strongly encouraged.
