RESEARCH INVESTIGATOR - TB

Duties & Responsibilities:
Reports to the Unit Head of TB and is responsible for working on drug targets in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, designing experimental works, defining scientific models and processes, conducting exploratory activities and generating analysis and interpretation of the results.
Prepares reports on laboratory activities according to global research standards, presents scientific / technical work at internal and external meetings.
Adheres to local and global standards and regulations in research work (e.g. health, safety, environment, animal welfare, information security, etc).
Remains up to date scientifically in his/her specific field and trains research associates.
Requirements:
PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Parasitology or related discipline, preferably with working knowledge of infectious diseases and at least 2 years postdoctoral or industry research experience.
Experience in protein purification / enzymology and / or BSL-3 will be beneficial.
Experience in molecular biology and microbiology (BSL-2) and knowledge of special databases desired.
Good command of the English language, good presentation and writing skills.
