Gynecologic cancer research group at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women's Health, Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking a post-doctoral fellow with background in molecular biology and cellular immunology. We are a newly established lab, and our research efforts are focused towards two main goals: 1) characterization of the repertoire of antigens capable of inducing immune responses in ovarian cancer, and 2) elucidating the mechanisms by which regulatory T cells impact ovarian tumors. The long-range goal of these studies is to harness the potential of cellular immune responses for improving the outcome for patients with epithelial ovarian cancer. The post will suit newly qualified PhD and/or MD individuals with extensive experience in immunology. Working experience with animal models is desirable.
Applicants must be highly motivated and have excellent communication and organization skills.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting research projects in tumor immunobiology, which
includes obtaining and analyzing data.
- Direct lab operations and performance of all technical aspects
of projects, such as reporting study progress, overall management of the research study, and problem-solving.
- Developing, writing, and preparing IRB research protocols,
informed consents, and minor modifications for review. Preparation of applications for continuing reviews and modifications in protocol.
Assuring that all protocols are carried out per the guidelines of the central and local manuals of operation.
- Keeping abreast of the Office of Human Research Protection
(OHRP) and HIPAA regulations, and providing oversight to ensure study compliance. Ensuring the practice of research ethics.
- Helping to write original manuscripts and grant submissions under the direction of the P.I.
The position is with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY, but the actual position is on the Moses campus of Montefiore Medical Center.
