George Mason University, Life Science Department, National Center for Biodefense & Infectious Disease on the Prince William campus seeks applicants for a Postdoctoral Virologist position.
Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in molecular and cellular virology, and have experience or a keen interest in antiviral therapeutic development and testing. Candidates must be capable and willing to work in a biocontainment laboratory at the Biological Safety Level-3+ (BSL-3+). Candidates must also be willing to be vaccinated against BSL-3+ pathogens.
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or M.D. Research experience with influenza viruses is not mandatory, but is preferred. Candidates must have a history of publishing the results of their research in peer-reviewed journals. Preference will be given to individuals with an established record of successfully competing for research support from funding agencies.
The successful applicant will be expected to work in multidisciplinary project teams and propose and pursue innovative, independent research.
