At the Biotechnology Centre is available a Postdoctoral Position in Computational Systems Biology (E13 TV-L) in the newly established research group of Dr. Andreas Beyer. The position is initially offered for one year and it can be extended to a total of up to three years. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The group for Systems Biology and Cellular Networks investigates regulatory processes at the genomic scale using experimental data from our collaborators in Dresden, Europe and North America.
The life-sciences campus in Dresden offers a very competitive research setting including a 3,000 node supercomputer at the university as well as strong local partners applying latest experimental technologies. The interdisciplinary Biotechnology Centre provides a stimulating environment for cutting edge research
Responsibilities: The postdoctoral fellow will conduct independent research with a focus on theoretical and computational models. The topics and methods will integrate with other projects of the group. The fellow has no teaching obligations.
Requirements: We are seeking a creative, highly motivated researcher with a track record of peer reviewed publications. Candidates must have a strong quantitative background and have received, or are soon expecting, a Ph.D. degree in relevant areas, including Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Engineering
