POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW POSITIONS
STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY
UNIV. OF PITTSBURGH
Two postdoctoral fellow positions are available in my laboratory in the Department of Structural Biology at University of Pittsburgh, USA. Our research is mainly focused on structure determination of macromolecular complexes using cryo-Electron Microscopy (cryoEM) and image analysis methods. Research projects include study of 1) HIV and host cell interactions; 2) structure and function of chemoreceptor signaling complex in bacterial chemotaxis; and 3) complexes involved in chromatin remodeling and DNA processing.
The laboratory is fully equipped with state-of-the-art electron microscopy instrumentation and modern molecular biology and protein biochemistry. The laboratory also has access to the protein expression and purification facilities, state-of-the-art NMR spectrometers and X-ray crystallography within the department.
Motivated candidate with strong interest in structural biology of complex molecular assemblies and solid background in biophysics/physics/material science are all encouraged to apply. Research experience in the following area(s) is plus: 1) cryo-EM, 2) image processing and/or 3) protein biochemistry/biophysics.
Potential candidates should send a PDF including a cover letter, curriculum vitae with list of publications, and names of three referees to:
Dr. Peijun Zhang
