Our lab develops methods and tool for understanding genetics and genomics of cancer. Specifically, we consider interaction between somatic alterations and germline genetics that are selected for in tumor development, and utilize high throughput data to infer and discover such connections. The successful candidate is expected to lead this project, in terms of both analytic developments and biological interpretation, mentoring students and interacting with collaborators.
Lab: Pe’er lab, Department of Computer Science/Center for Computational Biology & Bioinformatics, Columbia University
Requirements: Experience in computational biology is required. Strong understanding of both biology (genetics, genomics, cancer biology) as well as computation (algorithmics, machine learning, probability, statistics, programming) is a plus.
