Postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in the Waisman Center, Department of Genetics and Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for studying the central role of DNA methylation and methyl-DNA binding proteins in epigenetic regulation of brain function in mammalian development and disease. Current projects focus on characterizing and establishing genetically engineered mouse models for Rett Syndrome, an autistic spectrum neurodevelopmental disorder, as well as testing potential drug candidates in Rett mouse models.

A strong foundation in molecular biology and neurobiology or electrophysiology, as well as English proficiency is required. Experience in working with animals, either mouse or human ES cell culture, and primary neuronal cultures; or electrophysiology is preferred.
