美国贝勒医学院招聘博士后

A postdoctoral position is available starting in May, 2008 in the laboratory of Dr. Antony Rodriguez, who studies the function of microRNAs. The lab is interested in defining the microRNAs with essential roles in development/disease and particular efforts are focused on the let-7 microRNA gene family. To shed light on miRNA genes he has taken a systematic approach and generated about a dozen microRNA "knock-out" mice. The position will thus involve phenotypic examination of let-7 miRNA mutant mouse models and use of a wide-spectrum of techniques including embryology, transcriptomics, as well as cell and molecular biology approaches to more fully understand the role of this miRNA in mammals.

Candidates should have a PhD or MD/PhD with research experience in molecular cell biology and/or biochemistry. Expertise in developmental biology, stem cell biology, imaging, and/or cancer research is highly desirable. Good communication skills, ability to work independently, demonstrated creativity and high motivation are expected. Dr. Rodriquez's lab is situated at Baylor College of Medicine in the Department of Molecular & Human Genetics. The newly opened Margaret Alkek Research Building, where the postdoctoral position will be located, has state of the art facilities with a primary focus on translational mouse research.

For those interested, please send a CV, statement of research interests, and name & contact details of three referees to Dr. Antony Rodriguez at antonyr@bcm.edu Please indicate "postdoc application" on the subject line of your email.
