Job Description:

 

IPS, CAS (http://www.shanghaipasteur.ac.cn/index.asp) is seeking outstanding young Principal Investigators to reinforce its world-class research projects in innovation and discoveries of new targets and novel methods to prevent and treat viral diseases.

 

Principal Investigator should have abilities in directing research projects independently. IPS, CAS offers a large panel of core facilities and excellent working conditions in a highly collaborative environment and in strong connection with the Chinese Academy of Sciences network and the worldwide network of Pasteur institutes.

 

Research directions should include:

 

1.Virology:

 

a. Major infectious disease viruses: HIV, hepatitis B and C, flu

 

b. Emerging viruses: AIV, JEV

 

2. Basic research in Immunology and Vaccinology

 

3. Anti-virus Drug research

 

4. Cellular and Molecular Biology related to immunology and infectious diseases.

 

The initial appointment is for a period of four years, renewable upon evaluation. Competitive salary will be commensurate with experiences and qualifications. The successful applicants should work full time in the Institute, and should be committed to teaching and training of graduate students.

 

Criteria:

 

Candidates should have:

 

1. A Ph.D or MD degree.

 

2. 4-5 years of postdoctoral training experiences.

 

3. A good track record of publications in high-level international journals, outstanding

 

accomplishments in internationally well-known institutions.

 

4. The age should be under 40 and can be extended to 45 for applicants with a professorship..
