 Research Associate

Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate in the Randall Division of Cell and Molecular Biophysics within the school of Biomedical and Health Sciences at King’s College London.

This post is funded by Cancer Research UK to work on a project entitled “Alpha 3 integrin regulation of tumour cell migration”. The project will involve a number of cell biology/biophysics related skills, in particular the culture and transfection of mammalian cell lines, microscopy (confocal/fluorescence microscopy, time-lapse analysis of migration, FRET, FRAP), biochemistry and molecular biology.

The applicant will have a BSc or equivalent in biology/biomedical sciences/molecular biology or a related subject. A PhD in cell biology or a related subject is also required and previous postdoctoral research experience would be preferable. The candidate should have a good knowledge of the field of cell adhesion/migration and cytoskeletal dynamics.

The post is offered as a 3-year fixed-term contract

Salary will be offered on Grade 6 up to spine point 31, currently at £28,289 plus £2,323 London Allowance.
