美国怀特黑德生物医学研究所招聘博士后
A postdoctoral position is immediately available at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research to study the interactions of filoviruses (Ebola and Marburg virus) and host cells. The successful candidate will examine the impact of viral infection on host innate and adaptive immune responses and hemostasis. Potential research projects include studies on the relationship between filoviruses and host interferon responses, or the role of the endothelium in viral hemorrhagic fevers. This position offers an opportunity for considerable creativity and innovation in a highly enriched research environment.

The postdoctoral fellow will develop and apply new and existing techniques in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, confocal microscopy, genomics and virology to study pathogen-host cell interactions. Research may include options to collaborate with partner BSL-4 labs and pathogens classified as select agents.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have recently obtained a Ph.D. or M.D. degree with a strong background in biochemistry, immunology, virology or cell/molecular biology. This candidate will possess a good attitude, be enthusiastic and be able to work independently and well with a team. Strong skills in protein biochemistry and molecular biology are essential. Hands on experience with cell culture and molecular biology/biochemical techniques such as cloning, Northern and Western blots, Immunoprecipitation, protein purification is required. Previous work in areas of virology and/or immunology is desirable but not required.

Our lab focuses on viral pathogenesis and viral host interaction. (See http://www.wi.mit.edu/research/fellows/rubins.html) We have previously reported the development and molecular characterization of the first animal model of smallpox in PNAS.

Interested candidates should forward a CV with a publication list, a one-page cover letter detailing research interests and previous experience and three references to:
