Postdoctoral positions are available for experienced cell/molecular biologists to join our team investigating novel signaling mechanisms combining cellular studies and genetic approaches in mice. We currently have openings in the following 2 projects:
1) Regulation of cortical GABAergic interneuron development and function by GDNF and GFRa1 signaling, utilizing histological and functional analyses of transgenic and mutant mice. Experience in nervous system development and mouse genetics will be important for consideration to this position.
2) Activation and signal transduction mechanisms of the p75 neurotrophin receptor, combining site-directed mutagenesis, signaling assays and functional approaches in cell lines and primary tissue culture. Experience in molecular biology, intracellular signaling and neuronal culture will be important for consideration to this position.
The laboratory is located amid other 10 high-profile groups of the Strategic Center in Developmental Biology for Regenerative Medicine (www.dbrm.se), one of the most vibrant and productive research environments in Scandinavia.
Funding is available for an initial period of 2 years, starting any time during 2008.
