澳大利亚生物工程与纳米技术研究所招聘博士后
The Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) was established as a Research Institute of the University of Queensland in late 2002. The Institute is multi-disciplinary in focus with a membership that consists of world-class researchers working in the areas of bioengineering and nanotechnology. Research effort in the multi-disciplinary fields of bioengineering and nanotechnology will focus on producing new products, processes and devices for improving human health and quality of life.

A major stumbling block to the full utilisation of improved treatment strategies of major disease is the limited ability to deliver genes and drugs to the required sites in the body, particularly the skin. We are developing a novel platform technology to overcome these limitations, which employs arrays of micro-nanoprojections—on a patch—to accurately and efficiently deliver biopharmaceuticals to specific sites in the skin.

The Role The successful appointee will be part of a team in the AIBN led by Prof Mark Kendall, researching micro and nanostructures as practical clinical drug/vaccination delivery methods. This position will investigate and quantify the immune responses induced locally in the skin and systemically, following the delivery of vaccines and drugs with micro-nanoprojection patches. A new and dedicated MPM system will used to image key interactions, in conjunction with other immunological and dermatological assays.

The person Applicants should possess a PhD in a relevant discipline and practical experience in relevant fields or extensive research experience in the field of immunology and/or dermatology or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Research experience in Multi-Photon Microscopy or Confocal Microscopy and experience in immunology is essential. Experience or demonstrated interest in dermatology and drug/vaccine delivery is desirable.

Remuneration The remuneration package will be in the range $47,792 to $64,827 per annum (Research Academic Level A) or $68,239 to $81,034 per annum (Research Academic Level B), plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17%. This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for three years and appointment levels are commensurate with relevant skills and experience.
