A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Adrie Bruijnzeel in the McKnight Brain Institute at the University of Florida. The position is funded by a FAMRI research grant. This research project focuses on investigating the long-term effects of tobacco smoke exposure on the positive and negative reinforcing effects of nicotine in rats. The Bruijnzeel-lab is located in the McKnight Brain Institute (http://www.mbi.ufl.edu). The MBI houses state of the art research facilities and provides ample opportunities for collaborations.
This position requires a PhD in neuroscience, neuropharmacology, or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with animal models of drug addiction. Preference will be given to candidates with a track record of peer-reviewed publications, experience with rat surgeries, behavioral testing, and basic histology.
