Applications are invited for a one-year fixed term contract position as a Researcher in Diabetes and Women’s Health within the Diabetes and Endocrine Services of Galway University Hospitals and National University of Ireland Galway. The research focus relates in particular to diabetic pregnancy and pre-pregnancy care.
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day coordination and management of the clinical research activity in the proposed area. Within the remit of this post, the successful candidate will manage a caseload of patient’s participating in research projects. They will also support the on-going development of clinical research in line with the development of the diabetes services. He/She will maintain the highest standards of care, taking into account the different social and cultural needs.
The Researcher will be responsible for the day to day running of clinical projects under the supervision of Dr. F. Dunne, Department of Medicine, NUI Galway. Applicants for this post should hold a medical qualification and be within or have completed General Professional Training.
Starting date: 1st July 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Salary: €39,588 (point 1 of the postdoctoral researcher salary scale)
