Molecular mechanisms in cardiac development
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join a group that is studying the genetic networks that control cardiac development (see Nature Genetics 2001, 2004; Genes&Dev 2008 in press).
The project will focus on the transcription factor Cited2 and its role in heart development and left-right patterning. A key aim is to define the Cited2 protein interaction network and understand how it is disrupted by disease-causing mutations. The approaches used are interdisciplinary (see http://www.well.ox.ac.uk/bhattacharya ), combining molecular genetics, proteomics, developmental biology and novel imaging approaches. The project is funded by a Wellcome Trust Program Grant for 5 years.
