澳大利亚昆士兰大学生物医学院招聘博士后

The Role: A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study the mechanisms of endocytosis in secretory epithelial cells. The project is a continuation of our studies on secretion in these cells that have led to a number of recent papers [Thorn et al (2004), Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci. 101:6774-6779; Thorn & Parker (2005), J. Physiol. 563:433-42; Larina et al (2007), Mol. Biol. Cell 18:3502-3511].

The project will study single-vesicle dynamics in vivo by multiphoton microscopy and in vitro with electron microscopy. In addition, techniques of electrophysiology and microinjection are likely to be employed. Experience in any one of these techniques would be an advantage.

This work is of relevance to understanding secretory mechanisms in normal cells and in understanding the basis of secretory diseases like cystic fibrosis, diabetes and pancreatitis.

Remuneration: This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 1 year. The remuneration package will be in the range $60,392 to $64,827 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of 17%.

Location: The position is within The School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Queensland, widely acknowledged as one the leading Schools of Biomedical Sciences in Australia. The School comprises 47 teaching and learning academic staff with 11 Professors, 14 Associate Professors, 8 Senior Lecturers, 5 Lecturers and 9 Associate Lecturers.
