Postdoctoral Researcher

Applications are invited for a two-year fixed term contract position for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Mathematical Physics. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Michael Tuite on a research project “Higher Genus Vertex Operator Algebras” funded by a Science Foundation Ireland Research Frontiers Programme Grant.
Requirements: The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics or Mathematics. The applicant must have a high level of research experience relevant to the project in the area of vertex operator algebras and/or conformal field theory and in the area of Riemann surface theory. Applicants must have a demonstrable record of independent research.
Starting date: 1st September 2008.
Salary scale: Starting at €42,525 in the first year rising to €44,505 in the second year.
