Post-doctoral research scientist position available immediately to study the role of B lymphocytes in type 1 diabetes, using the nonobese diabetic mouse (NOD) model. Projects include B lymphocyte signaling, antigen-presentation, inflammatory chemotactic factors, the use of B lymphocytes as therapeutic agents, and the development of in-vivo imaging protocols. Experience in flow cytometry, lymphocyte stimulation and proliferation assays, gene cloning, cell migration assays, ELISA, and immunohistochemistry desirable. Excellent English required.
This is a young lab in which the successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact closely with the PI, and to take ownership of projects that are already underway and expected to produce publishable results in short order. In addition, there are opportunities to branch out and create new work, in collaboration with renowned scientists in the fields of beta cell biology and in-vivo imaging. We provide a pleasant, collaborative atmosphere, in which high productivity is expected within a framework of reasonable hours.
