This post is based within the Bristol Heart Institute, Level 7 of the Bristol Royal Infirmary. You will be working closely with Saadeh Suleiman, a Professor of Cardiac Physiology, on an NIHR-funded project relating to the protection of the heart and the patient during cardiac surgery.
Your main duties will involve investigations on tissues and blood samples collected from patients undergoing open heart surgery and recruited for several trials. In addition, you will be expected to develop supporting lines of investigation in basic research.

This appointment will be initially be for two years starting on 1 September 2008.
