Postdoctoral positions are available immediately. Our research interests focus on physiological and pathophysiological regulation of novel molecules important in energy homeostasis and diabetes, as well as its cardiovascular complications. Better understanding of such mechanisms provides opportunities for development of novel therapeutic strategies in metabolic disease. Our recent work has involved the molecular basis for the regulation by polyphenols of the NAD-dependent deacetylase, Sirtuin (SIRT)-1, in diabetes.
Requirements include a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic and interactive individuals with strong research background in cellular and molecular biology, signal transduction or related field. Experience with experimental animal models and small animal surgery is preferred. Prior laboratory experience in an related field is desired, but not required.
Interested candidates will send their CV, list of publications, along with contact information for three references, and a cover letter which describes past research experience and a brief statement for their research interests and research plan by email to mwzang1@bu.edu.
