A postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Laia Acarin, in the Medical Histology Unit of the Department of Cell Biology, Physiology and Immunology and the Neuroscience Institute of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
Our main research focus is on the Molecular and cellular mechanisms of neuroinflammation associated to experimental brain damage on neonates. The project will involve studies on transgenic animals using several techniques such as immunohistochemistry and histochemistry, confocal analysis, ELISA assays, western blotting and RT-PCR among others.
The candidate we seek will have a recent PhD or equivalent in the area of Neuroscience or Neuroimmunology. Familiarity with relevant experimental techniques in molecular and cellular neurobiology or immunology is desirable. Ability for preparation of research outputs for communication purposes, and oral and written communication skills is also wanted.
The position is full-time for three years starting on November 2008.
