Postdoctoral Research Associate in Immunology and Cell Biology

This post will study regulation of the immune system by the cytokine transforming growth factor ß (TGFß). Based in the group of Dr MarkTravis, the project will explore the molecular mechanisms by which the cell adhesion receptor integrin avß8 activates TGFß in the immune system, and how this activation regulates immune responses. The project will also involve a range of immunological and cell biological techniques.
You must hold a PhD (or expect to obtain shortly) in a biological science and a strong background in immunology. Experience in primary immune cell culture and histology is desirable.
Funded bythe BBSRC, this position is tenable for three years, tenable from 1 October 2008.
