Two postdoctoral positions are available at University of California Berkeley in the Yildiz Lab (http://physics.berkeley.edu/research/yildiz/index). We are located in newly built Stanley Hall (QB3) which brings together researchers from different disciplines and fosters collaborations to challenge biological problems. Our laboratory is focused on understanding the molecular basis of intracellular cargo transportation by using state-of-the-art single molecule fluorescence and force microscopy techniques.
First position is for researchers who have experience in optical spectroscopy, imaging, and possibly programming in Matlab and/or Labview. The successful candidates will work on the development and application of advanced optical tools for the investigation of molecular processes at the single molecule level with purified motor proteins in vitro and also in living cells.
For the second position, we are looking for Biochemist/Biologist with experience in protein biochemistry, biophysical and genetic methods. The project involves in vitro reconstruction of telomere and telomere binding partners and aims to understand their role in chromosome end protection.
