A post-doctoral position in synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry available. A interdisciplinary research group at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry sponsored by the Colorado Initiative in Molecular Biotechnology (CIMB). The CIMB is an initiative at CU to foster new research, teaching, and technology development at the interface of life sciences, physical sciences, mathematics and computational sciences, and engineering. The program has close ties to many local biotech companies, including placement of researchers and participation in multi-disciplinary research programs. Yin’s group is specifically interested in the areas of: (1) drug discovery using structure-based rational design and high-throughput screening; (2) biology and signaling of integral membrane proteins that play important roles in drug addiction/abusing, cardiovascular diseases an stroke, cancers, and infectious diseases; (3) organic, medicinal and combinatorial synthesis for application in drug discovery and nanotechnology; and (4) protein receptor binding or cell-based drug screening assay. Experience with organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, spectroscopic analysis and purification techniques desired. NIH-guideline salary & benefits plus excellent research and living environment.
