Postdoctoral researcher position is available in the Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Houston, College of Pharmacy to study the calcium dependent regulation of cardiac muscle contraction and relaxation. Responsibilities include studying the effects of the mutations in regulatory muscle proteins on the contractile properties of cardiac muscle. Studies will be conducted using both biochemical and physiological techniques such as absorbance, fluorescence, skinned or intact muscle systems.
Applicants should be highly motivated and have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree with a strong background in muscle physiology, cell and molecular biology, biochemistry or related disciplines. Applicants should have demonstrated scientific productivity, and ability to work independently.
