Post-doctoral scientist in TSE Immunobiology (mucosal immunology)

The job holder will contribute to ongoing work aimed at establishing the role of gut-associated lymphoid tissues in transmissible spongiform encephalopathy agent (TSEs, or prions) neuroinvasion from the intestine. The
applicant will complete high quality original research and aspects of the study will be performed in collaboration with colleagues at the University
of Manchester. The post will require a solid knowledge in immunology, and experience in pathogenesis studies, modern molecular and cell biology techniques. The successful candidate will have a PhD and an understanding and interest in TSE biology would be desirable but not essential. An ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally and in writing would be expected.
Funding is available immediately and is for 36 months.
