Description: The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.EDWARD CHAUM. The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.EDWARD CHAUM. The Department of Ophthalmology at UT Memphis has a postdoctural position available immediately to study the application of gene therapy, genomics, and transcriptional regulation to the treatment of oxidative stress in diabetes and retinal degenerative disease.
Qualifications: Interested candidates must have a Ph.D. degree with a strong background in cellular and molecular biology, including experience in genomics, transcription and translational analyses og gene expression, and confocal microscopy. A strong publication record and a commitment to achieving academic independence is desired. Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and based on the prevailing wage for postdoctoral fellows set by the state of Tennessee Department of Labor.
