The Department of Physiology and Biophysic has an opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. Duties include participating in research on the molecular function of voltage-activated ion channels and neurotransmitter transporters. Will be involved in: frog handling, site-directed mutagenesis, DNA sequencing, mRNA synthesis, gel electrophoresis, and in electrophysiological measurements (Patch Clamp and Two-Electrode Voltage Clamp recordings). Designing and conducting experiments, as well as performing data analysis. Careful and accurate records of all experiments will be recorded in a laboratory notebook. Involved with general lab activities and keeping the lab in good working order. Documenting and analyzing data, preparing illustrations for publication, performing statistical analysis of data, computer processing, and preparing slides and posters, write manuscripts and grants.
Job Requirements: Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. degree with experience in basic molecular biological techniques. An appropriate combination of education, certifications, and/or relevant work experience will be considered.
