Dr. Vasu’s laboratory in the Department of Surgery, College of Medicine, University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow to carry out Immunology research. Ph.D in Immunology or other appropriate field is required for this position. He/she will be involved in immune tolerance research focused on type 1diabetes and autoimmune thyroiditis in mouse models. Experience in immunological studies using small rodents is required. He/she should also be well-versed with various experimental procedures such as immunoassays, T cell assays, viral and non-viral vector based gene delivery, multi-parameter flow-cytometry, molecular cloning and protein expression, protein purification and characterization, and electrophoretic and immunoblot methods. This project will make use of various Immunochemical and Molecular Biology techniques for developing therapeutic strategies for autoimmune diseases.
