新加坡南洋理工大学SPMS招收化学及相关方向博士/博后

Dr. Steve Zhou recently started his group at the Nanyang Technological
University inSingapore in 2008.
He holds a joint appointment as National Research Foundation fellow and
Nanyang assistant professor. Before his move to Singapore, he obtained his Ph.D
degree at MIT under the guidance of Prof. Gregory Fu. Later, He received his
post-doctrainings in Prof. John Hartwig’s group, first at Yale and later at UIUC.
Research Interests:
research programs will be focused to devise efficient and practical ways to access
important chiral building blocks from cheap, readily available feedstock chemicals.
research programs will specifically target these classes of compounds, e.g.,
epoxides, alkyl amines, alkyl alcohols, carbocycles, and heterocycles.
He also interested in the synthesis of fluorinated arenes and heteroarenes.
To achieve these goals, group will be engaged in the design and synthesis of both
transition metal and organic catalysts, method development and mechanistic
investigations.
other interests include: general-purpose, organic platforms for both
structural and functional modeling of metalloenzyme active sites; new designs of
organic polymers and oligomers for solar energy harvesting and conversion.
Positions Available
I seek self-motivated, career-oriented graduates, research assistants and post-doc
coworkers. Post-doc candidates with strong background in organic or organometallic
synthesis are encouraged to apply to me directly with a CV.I am also committed to
graduate and undergraduate research programs.
