瑞典卡罗林斯卡研究所招下丘脑发育与功能研究聘博士后

A postdoctoral position is available for experienced cell/developmental neurobiologists to join our team investigating CNS control of energy metabolism using mouse models carrying mutations in the ALK7 receptor, a novel regulator of glucose homeostasis and energy balance (see Bertolino et al. and Andersson et al., PNAS 2008).

The aim of the project is to understand the roles of ALK7 in hypothalamic nuclei and how it contributes to the regulation of metabolic functions. The project encompasses in vitro and in vivo approaches. Experience in neurodevelopment, hypothalamus function and anatomy, metabolic regulation, and mouse genetics will be important for consideration to this post. Our group has recently been awarded 2.5 million EUR from an ERC Advanced grant for this project.

The laboratory is located amid other 10 high-profile groups of the Strategic Center on Developmental Biology for Regenerative Medicine (www.dbrm.se), one of the most vibrant and productive research environments in Scandinavia. Additional information on the work of our group can be found in our webpage at http://zephyr.neuro.ki.se, from which our articles can also be downloaded.

Funding is available for an initial period of 2 years, starting any time during the Spring of 2009.

Application, including i) CV, ii) list of publications and iii) statement of future interests, should be sent to carlos.ibanez@ki.se. Three referees should be asked to send confidential letters.
