日本理化研究所发育生物学研究中心招聘新皮层发育研究博士后

Laboratory for Neocortical Development at the Center for Developmental Biology, RIKEN (http://www.cdb.riken.jp) is now accepting applications for RIKEN Foreign Postdoctoral Researcher (FPR) fellowship for FY2010. These positions are for foreign young scientists who have demonstrated creative and innovative ideas and are expected to achieve broad international recognition in the future. Successful candidates will have outstanding research training and publication records, and a focused research proposal in the area of neocortical development using mouse systems. The laboratory employs a wide range of techniques including genetic manipulations in mice that enables conditional loss of gene and cellular functions, recombination mediated cell-lineage tracing, and systematic approaches to identify novel regulatory pathways underlying neocortical areal establishment. Research proposal including in vivo imaging techniques such as two-photon microscopy, calcium imaging and electrophysiology are also encouraged. The goal of our research is to understand the molecular basis by which unique sensory perceptions and functional circuitries develop in the higher mammalian neocortex. For further details regarding our research area please refer to our website: http://www.cdb.riken.jp/lnd
