Postdoctoral position: Molecular mechanisms of neural plasticity and vocal learning in songbirds A postdoctoral position is immediately available to study the molecular and genomic mechanisms underlying neural circuit development, neural plasticity, and learning using songbirds as a model system. Current projects include studying developmental and experience-dependent transcriptome and miRNA regulation using the latest ultra-high-throughput genomics tools in combination with bioinformatics and in situ hybridization techniques. The work will be conducted at the Neuroscience Center at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans, Louisiana. Highly motivated individuals who recently obtained a PhD, with strong background in molecular neuroscience and vertebrate developmental biology are encouraged to apply. Experience and interest in miRNA and/or genomics are desirable.
