My lab is focused on identifying microRNA/its target genes and proteins for the etiology and biology of osteoporosis and cancers using Functional genomics and proteomics technologies as well as cellular and molecular biology approaches. We are looking for a creative and energetic postdoctoral scientist to join our functional genomics and proteomics group and to focus on identification and characterization of gene or protein biomarkers used for early diagnosis and prediction of prognosis of the target diseases. The techniques and skills required include:

 

1. Experienced mass spec analysis of protein posttranslational modifications, especially, phosphorylation, glycosylation, and ubiquilation; 2-DLC-MALDI-MS/MS, 2-D electrophoresis, experienced secretome analysis, qRT-PCR, Western Blot assay, RNA/protein extraction.

 

2. Experienced bioinformatics skills, such as computer languages C++ and Javalet or Pearl, SQL database creation and management, skillful statistical ability, data analysis, data mining/query.

 

3. Skillful English writing/reading abilities and fluent oral English ability.
