The University of Massachusetts Amherst and the Center of Excellence in Apoptosis Research (CEAR) provide a stimulating, interactive and cross-disciplinary research environment. This position is as a full-time post-doctoral researcher working collaboratively between the Hardy laboratory, which focuses on the biochemistry and structural biology of caspases, and the Tremblay laboratory, which focuses on mouse organogenesis and development. The goal of this project is to exploit a novel apoptosis reporter we have developed to observe and characterize developmental apoptosis longitudinally in whole mice. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and should possess skills in basic molecular biology and tissue culture. Experience with embryonic stem cells, mouse developmental biology techniques, FACS or a background in apoptosis would also be beneficial.
