Projects in the laboratory focus on allergic inflammation and innate immunity. The goal of the project is to determine molecular basis of IgE-dependent mast cell activation, signalling, and Toll-like receptors in orchestrating innate and adaptive immune responses. The activation and apoptosis of immune effector cells during acute and chronic inflammation are examined in studies of relevance to allergic asthma and lung infection. A wide range of approaches are employed by our laboratory including cellular and molecular techniques and in vitro and in vivo models. Our laboratory provides a dynamic training environment, with a strong record of published research.
