A NIH-funded position in mucosal immunology is currently available to study the mechanisms of oral and nasal tolerance. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to be involved in basic and translational research using novel targeted vaccine delivery platforms. Studies will involve the identification of mucosal dendritic cells responsible for regulatory T cell stimulation particularly for our vaccines related to treat collagen-induce arthritis as well as other autoimmune diseases. Applicants must have a M.D. or Ph.D. in immunology, microbiology, or related discipline, and the ability to design experiments relevant to testing and analyzing immunization modalities. Preferred candidates should have cellular immunology and autoimmune experience. VMB houses state-of-the-art core facilities in flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, genomics, and proteomics.
