A Postdoctoral position is available at the University of Vermont, Department of Obstetrics Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences to conduct NIH-funded research project on cellular and molecular mechanisms of uterine vascular dysfunction in diabetic pregnancy. The successful candidate will use a combination of state-of-the art techniques: pressurised microvessels, fluorescent microscopy, electrophysiology of intact vessels and of isolated cells to characterize the effects of experimental diabetes in rat pregnancy on ion channel function of smooth muscle and endothelial cells of uteroplacental arteries. A MD or PhD in biological sciences with at least one year experience in patch-clamp electrophysiology is required. The position will remain open until filled. A commitment of at least two years is required. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and in accordance with NIH guidelines.
