美国明尼苏达大学癌症中心招聘博士后

University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer is hiring a Postdoctoral Associate. A Postdoctoral Associate is sought to conduct research in cancer genetics involving the use of a synthetic transposable element called Sleeping Beauty (SB). Utilizing SB, the first efficient system for in vivo transposition in somatic cells of the mouse, a screen for novel colorectal cancer genes was carried out (Starr et al., Science, 2009). A National Cancer Institute-supported project to functionally validate genes from this and other screens is underway and a postdoc is sought for this work. Use of an extensive array of novel transposon vectors and novel mouse models of cancer will also be a part of this project. Principal Investigator: David A. Largaespada, Ph.D. Collaborator: Robert Cormier, Ph.D.

The post-doctoral associate is trained by and works in conjunction with their faculty mentor who determines the training agenda. The appointee may participate in preparation and presentation of data to study investigators. The appointee may author, co-author, and otherwise collaborate on reports, conference papers and publications. Postdoctoral training positions are normally limited to a maximum period of three years.

Required Qualifications: PhD or equivalent degree; and experience in biomedical research.
