A position for a Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Assistant Professor in vascular physiology is available immediately to study calcium sparks and waves in the spiral modiolar artery of the cochlea using confocal calcium imaging, video-microscopy, and molecular biology techniques. Projects are focused on the regulation vascular diameter through calcium-mediated mechanisms in rodent models. Candidates must hold an M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent degree in natural or biomedical sciences, electrical engineering or biophysics and have excellent verbal and written English skills. Preference will be giving to applicants with prior experience in vascular biology, calcium signaling, experience in microfluorometry and molecular biology and training in otolaryngology. The appointment will be either at the Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Assistant Professor level commensurate with experience. Research Assistant Professor level must have two years post-doctoral experience. Screening of applicants begins August 10, 2009 and continues until the position is filled.
