A Postdoctoral position is now open at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in developing bioinformatics software, tools, database, and pipeline in sequence analysis, clustering, annotation, and so on. This person will work on next generation sequencing data and metagenomic data, the jobs include algorithm development, application to biological problems, and collaborations with other projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
o Ph. D. in bioinformatics, computer science, computational biology, or related fields.
o Proved skills in computer languages such as c/c++, Perl, Python, Java and so on.
o Extensive experiences in bioinformaitcs software and resources such as BLAST, HMMER, Clustalw, sequence assembly, gene prediction, NCBI, EBI, PDB, Uniprot, Pfam, COG, GO, KEGG and so on.
o Experiences in relational database MySQL, web development
o Experiences in Linux, computer cluster, and grid computing.
o Ability in doing independent research and record of publication in high quality journals.
