Postdoctoral positions are available within the Emory Epithelial Pathobiology Unit to study intestinal immune responses to bacterial antigens using a broad range of in vivo and in vitro approaches. Opportunities are available for detailed studies directed at understanding intestinal antigen-presenting cell regulation of pro-and anti-inflammatory mucosal immune responses (see Nat. Immunol. 2007 Oct;8(10):1086-94; J. Exp. Med. 2007 Dec 24;204(13):3067-76).

 

The successful applicant needs to demonstrate a track record of productivity, independence, creative thinking skills, and motivation. Individuals with predoctoral or one to two years of postdoctoral experience in mucosal cellular immunology, multicolor flow cytometry and transgenic mouse work is required. A doctoral degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent) in addition to good English communication and interpersonal skills are necessary. The successful applicant will join a large epithelial pathobiology group comprised of six principal investigators with common interests and interconnected research space.
