A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Jimo Borjigin at the Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology, University of Michigan Medical School. The project will focus on molecular mechanisms of functional recovery from partial nerve injury using the SCN-pineal circuit as an in vivo model system. Individuals trained in some or all of the following techniques/approaches are encouraged to apply: immunohistochemistry on rodent tissues, Western blotting, microarray data analysis, non-radioactive in situ hybridization, demonstrated experience including DNA and RNA isolation and analysis. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in molecular neurobiology. The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to work independently, present at national meetings and publish in international journals. Motivation, initiative and creativity are highly desirable.
