A postdoc position is available immediately in the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition, College of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), to study the cellular/molecular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of fatty-liver diseases. This person must hold a recent Ph.D, and be experienced with techniques such as RNA/DNA/protein isolation from cell culture and animal tissues, Western Blotting and quantitative PCR. Preference will be given to the candidate who has experience and background with the techniques involved in the study of lipid metabolism and demonstrates willingness to work as a part of the team, to follow direction, and to learn new techniques. Close attention to detail, punctuality and consistency are a must. Salary according to NIH guidelines and experience.
