The University of Tennessee Health Science Center at Memphis, has one Instructor faculty position open in the Department of Physiology. The lab studies signal transduction mechanisms in the heart. This position is central to a project that is fully supported by an NIH grant for a minimum of 2 years. The project specifically involves studies examining the role of protein phosphatase 2a in myocardial ischemia and reperfusion. Requirements are a Ph.D in a biomedical field, ability to conduct independent research, and 3 years of postdoctoral experience with demonstrated productivity in the form of first authored publications. The applicant should be proficient in cell and molecular biological techniques. The Instructor will be responsible for supervising postdoctoral fellows, research associates, and graduate students and willing to apply for his/her own funding.
