A postdoc position is available immediately in the group of Kim Dale at the College of Life Sciences in Dundee, Scotland. Building on recently published work, you will be working on the means by which Wnt signalling alters the periodicity of the vertebrate segmentation clock and somite formation in the chick and mouse embryo.
 
You will be working in a highly international research group that operates across the disciplines of molecular biology, cell biology, embryology, signal transduction. Training, as required, will be provided in a well-equipped, well-funded and supportive environment enabling the successful candidate to extend skills and expertise. The College has excellent facilities for all aspects of research, including in-house and easily accessible services, such as cloning, proteomics, microscopy, DNA sequencing, oligo synthesis and preparation of growth media.
 
This position is suited for a candidate with a recent PhD and a strong background in biochemistry (Westerns, Immunoprecipitation, pulse chase experiments, kinase assays etc.) with at least one first author publication in a good scientific journal. A background in cell biology and/or developmental biology ideally in an area related to early chick and mouse development is also highly advantageous. The candidate must be able to work independently.
 
The position is available immediately for 24 months.
