Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research assistant to work under the supervision of Professor Hagan Bayley and Dr Nick Jones on a research project for an initial period of one year. The project involves the development of advanced statistical signal processing techniques to facilitate low-cost, rapid nanopore-based DNA sequencing, with the eventual aim of making reliable base calls from long DNA strands driven through the nanopore.

The applicant should have a working knowledge of modern statistical signal processing methods; Effective Matlab (or equivalent), programming skills, a good background understanding of relevant physical applied mathematics and statistics.
